American Antiquarian Society
DGI consulted with the American Antiquarian Society in its efforts to modernize its network, upgrade its technology infrastructure, and migrate its bibliographic database to a contemporary platform. This work has led to DGI's continued involvement in the Society's major initiative to convert the catalog of its holdings into a comprehensive, high quality MARC database which will run on a contemporary public access catalog (OPAC). |

The French Library and Cultural Center
DGI acted as the consultant to the French Library and Cultural Center in the development of its plan for automation. During a series of meetings with Center staff and administration, goals for the project were developed, specifications for the OPAC software were defined, and policies were created.
DGI was subsequently selected as the retrospective conversion vendor for the Library's extraordinary collection. The recon project involved updating holdings on OCLC, and reviewing name authorities.
Prior to migrating the records to the library's new ILMS, subjects were authorized. DGI was also responsible for producing smart barcodes for the entire collection.

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation
DGI assisted the Thomas Jefferson Foundation in assessing its information management requirements, and in the selection of a new and more robust integrated library management system (ILMS). The consulting assignment consisted of an information audit, evaluation of current information management practices, and interviews with representatives of various departments and the Library staff. The study resulting from this audit has aided the Library in determining ways in which the new ILMS can be woven into the intellectual and information management practices of the Foundation. DGI was subsequently contracted to undertake the migration of the library's catalog to a consistent, high-quality MARC database which will be delivered to the OPAC vendor. |

Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
DGI provided consulting services in the form of an information audit for the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. The result of the audit was the creation of a management plan for information resources. The plan addressed issues relating to utilization of resources available in the library and several other locations, access to commercial databases and policies for information sharing. The plan also set the requirements for the library's selection of an online public access catalog (OPAC) and enhancements the to Reserve's LAN. |

DGI provides on-call cataloging services for publications offered in electronic format by Books24x7.com. Working from new title announcements, DGI provides either copy cataloging or original cataloging as needed. Records are housed on the Books24x7.com FTP site where they are available for transfer by member libraries. |

Connecticut State Library
DGI provides on-site cataloging services to the Connecticut State Library for a selection of its collections. The project includes copy and original cataloging, conversion of the existing card catalog to electronic format, and reclassification from the Dewey Decimal classification system to the Library of Congress Classification system. |

Massachusetts Historical Society
DGI supported the Society in upgrading their OCLC records, creating an authority file containing locally authorized subject headings, and preparing the records for migration to its new ILMS. The project also involved merging holdings from both OCLC and North American Imprints (NAIP) sources. DGI provides ongoing assistance for conversion of additional portions of the collection. |

Peabody Essex Museum
DGI processed 12,000 titles for the Phillips Library of Peabody Essex Museum. This OCLC retrospective conversion project included addition of local subject headings and holdings statements. The library's records were then added to MassCat. |

Andover-Harvard Theological Library
Old Divinity Collection Inventory
Old Divinity Collection (Cutter Classification): in preparation for a building renovation project, DGI inventoried and barcoded approximately 150,000 items which were temporarily transferred to the Harvard Depository.
DGI staff also provided transportation services for the materials
Rare Book Cleaning and Shelf-shifting
DGI supported the Andover-Harvard Theological Library staff in the cleaning and shelf-shifting of approximately 30,000 rare books. Materials were moved in preparation for a building renovation and construction project. |

Widener Library
DGI was retained to provide project management and staffing to support the removal of approximately 200,000 monographs from the New England Deposit Library (NEDL). DGI updated the HOLLIS catalog to reflect the relocation of the material to the Harvard Depository Library in Southborough, MA.

Marymount College,
Gloria Gaines Memorial Library
DGI worked under contract to Clancy-Cullen Moving and Storage, a company specializing in library relocation. DGI provided onsite staff and supervision for the barcoding and relabelling of the entire collection. The project was the result of the need to integrate the collection of the Gloria Gaines Memorial Library at Marymount with the Fordham University Graduate Center collection, formerly held separately within the Library. Prior to integration, the Marymount collection of 80,000 titles was reclassified from Dewey to Library of Congress Classification scheme and smart barcodes were applied. |

Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine
Shelf-reading and Smart Barcoding of Circulating Collection
DGI provided staff to shelf-read and apply smart barcodes to the library's circulating collection.
70,000 Monographs and 22,000 Classed Serials were processed.
This project also included the integration of approximately 32,000 items from the Boston Medical Library and the Harvard Medical Library Collections
Rare Book Room Inventory
DGI staff performed an inventory of approximately 400 serial titles published prior to 1800. Items were reconciled with the HOLLIS database.

Psychology Research Library
DGI provided project management and staffing for the move of the Psychology Research Library collections to temporary storage at the Harvard Depository in Southborough, MA in preparation for a major renovation project. DGI subsequently provided for the orderly return of the collection after the completion of the renovation project. |

Publisher Cataloging in Publication (PCIP)
Small publishers find it difficult to work within the timeframes imposed by the Library of Congress on requests for CIP cataloging. As a service to these publishers, trained librarians may provide publisher's cataloging in publication in lieu of Library of Congress CIP. DGI has a number of catalogers on staff qualified to provide this service. |

Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC)
As a part of ongoing enhancement to the Special Collections Database, DGI was contracted to provide name and subject authority control for the terms housed in the Special Collections Database. In addition DGI contributed new Name Authority records to NACO based on information received from institutions listed in the Special Collections Database. |

NACO - Program for Cooperative Cataloging
DGI is unique in its status as a commercial vendor authorized to input records into the Library of Congress Name Authority File. In that capacity, DGI has supported the American Antiquarian Society in the input of over 12,000 Name Authority records into the Library of Congress Name Authority File. These names were identified by AAS staff during its North American Imprints program. The new Name records were created in preparation for the migration of the AAS catalog to a new integrated library management system.
